Mitsubishi reveals Eclipse Cross SUV
Mitsubishi has taken the wraps off its Eclipse Cross SUV prior to its arrival in early 2018.
Launching in the crossover class to rival models such as the Nissan Qashqai and SEAT Ateca, the Eclipse Cross will sit above the ASX and below the Outlander in Mitsubishi’s line-up.
Making its debut at the Geneva Motor Show, the Eclipse Cross will offer two engines, covering a new 1.5-litre direct-injection turbocharged petrol featuring a new CVT transmission with eight-speed Sport Mode manual override plus Mitsubishi’s existing 2.2-litre direct-injection turbocharged diesel fitted with a new eight-speed automatic transmission. The Eclipse Cross also features an electronically-controlled 4WD system that alters torque to the rear wheels based on driving situation and the road surface.
The interior, which is yet to be revealed, brings a Smartphone Link Display Audio system – which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Touchpad Controller and Head Up Display.
Pricing and full specification for the Eclipse Cross will be announced closer to its on-sale date.
