NAFA's IFA to include session on leasing & funding strategies for global fleets

By / 10 years ago / News / No Comments

Taking place 5-7th November at Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, FL, the event will include a session from Jeff Schlesinger, managing director for GE Commercial Finance, on “Global Funding Differences Using Finance Leases, Operating Leases, and Capital Allocation Strategies”.

In the session, Mr Schlesinger will explain the differences between global availability of funding for differently structured leases. Attendees will explore issues such as the logic of self-funding and other market-based considerations. Mr Schlesinger will also provide an update on pending International Accounting Standards Board changes and the latest anticipated impact on U.S. lease accounting.

‘Knowing what acquisition strategies are best for specific fleets' needs, and how to pay for them, is knowledge that cannot be underestimated, both at home and abroad,’ said NAFA CEO Phillip E Russo. ‘Now add the complexity of different cultures, how they do business, how they structure leasing plans, and how they work that financing, and one can see how global fleet managers would need very specialized information. That is precisely what NAFA's International Fleet Academy brings.’

In addition to the educational sessions, NAFA’s International Fleet Academy offers exclusive networking opportunities and a cocktail reception and dinner each night.  Early registration costs before 30th September are $699 for NAFA members and $1,139 for non-members. Fleet professionals who join NAFA as they register by the early registration deadline will receive a year of NAFA membership and registration to the IFA for the low price of $839 – a savings of $779.
