A new AI collaboration will help fleets improve driver safety through enhanced driving monitoring and training.

The SmartDrive platform combines AI-enabled video safety, advanced analytics, telematics and compliance apps into a single box

Motormax, a fleet safety specialist with over 25 years of experience, has teamed up with Solera to distribute the SmartDrive video and safety platform.

The solution combines AI-enabled video safety, advanced analytics, telematics, and compliance apps into a single box to help keep drivers safe and vehicles on the road.

The cloud-based platform provides a complete overview of fleet safety as the solution’s AI understands and monitors driver behaviour alongside road conditions and provides guidance to improve driver skills. In the case of a road incident, the technology provides evidence instantly.

Jog Lall, business development director, Solera, said the tie-up with Motormax would improve safety across the fleet sector.

“They have developed a fantastic reputation and work with some of the industry’s biggest names. We believe SmartDrive is essential in taking fleet safety to the next level while enhancing operational efficiency thanks to advanced scheduling tools and intelligent route planning.”

SmartDrive is part of Solera’s Fleet Solutions, a digital hub enabling fleets to operate safely and efficiently. The technology works to eliminate risk and optimise operational performance by reducing incident frequency, exonerating drivers, lowering fuel costs and reducing a fleet’s carbon footprint.

James Haycock, co-founder and director of Motormax, said: “There’s no doubt fleet operators believe AI-enabled video safety technology is an essential tool to ensure the safety of their drivers, other road users and to keep their vehicles on the road.

“We are delighted to be representing Solera and strongly feel both companies share business values and perspectives on bringing pioneering new technology to the industry.”
