New Fiat Doblò unveiled

On sale in 29 countries in the EMEA area and produced in Turkey, the new Doblò will arrive in Fiat showrooms starting from February.

The fourth-generation model brings three trim levels (Pop, Easy and Lounge) are offered along with two roof heights, two wheelbases, 11 body colours (including the new Colosseo Grey), five interiors and two seat configurations (standard with 5 seats, on request with 7).

The new Doblò also features a completely redesigned exterior – with new bumpers and light clusters – and interior along with practical interior space offering up to seven seats along with a 790-litre luggage compartment. This rises to 1,050 litres in the long wheelbase version. If the rear seats are folded down, the volume increases to 3,200 and 4,000 litres respectively.

Meanwhile the front passenger seat that can fold down to a table (optional) while those in the second and third row (in the case of the seven-seat configuration) can be reclined and folded down easily. Also offered are multiple levels for positioning the parcel shelf, a large number of storage compartments and a 60/40 split rear seat.

Fiat also claims the best handling in the category helped by the Bi-link suspension, exclusive in the segment, which includes independent wheels, anti-roll bar, dual calibration rear shock absorbers (calibrated rebound and compression for the best in terms of handling, comfort, roll and stability) and high-performance springs to provide better damping performance on all roads.

The engine range is also said to be one of the widest and most comprehensive in the category with seven units from 90 to 135PS fuelled by petrol, diesel and methane (depending on market).

The petrol units are the 1.4 95PS and 1.4 T-JET 120PS, while the turbodiesels are the 1.6 MultiJet 90PS (also with Dualogic robotised gearbox), the 1.6 MultiJet 105PS and the 2.0 MultiJet 135 HP.

The final model is the dual-fuel (petrol/methane) 1.4 T-JET 120PS Natural Power, which ensures the same performance as the petrol version together with all the financial and environmental benefits offered by methane.

On the infotainment front, the new Doblò offers two content levels according to trim level. The first system has an active matrix display, FM/AM radio, USB media player/iPod connection, AUX-IN port, automatically adjusting volume according to speed, Bluetooth technology (without voice recognition) and controls on the steering wheel (the latter optional).

The new Doblò also comes with the popular Uconnect 5-inch multimedia system already fitted on many Fiat vehicles, which also comes with controls on the steering wheel and eco:Drive software to help save fuel and cut CO2 emissions. Integrated navigation developed in collaboration with TomTom is also available on demand.
