New Hyundai i30 Wagon teased
Hyundai has published a teaser image of its new i30 Wagon prior to its unveiling at Geneva.
The second model in the new i30 family, the Wagon carries over the ‘Cascading Grille’ family identity and chrome features.
No engine details have been released but the launch line-up for the hatch brings three petrol engines – including the debut of the new 140hp 1.4 T-GDI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol – and one 1.6-litre turbo diesel engine with three outputs with CO2 emissions expected to start from 89g/km.
The Wagon will be followed by a faster i30 N sport model later this year and a three-door i30 fastback will complete the line-up in early 2018.
“The new generation i30 Wagon speaks the language of the i30 family in terms of design, and it carries the new Hyundai family identity – the Cascading Grille,” said Thomas Bürkle, chief designer at Hyundai Design Centre Europe. “The tapering roofline and the dynamic proportions give the Wagon an almost coupé-like silhouette. The sleek and dynamic profile is further emphasised by a rich chrome frame surrounding the side windows.”
