New Hyundai Inster teased as affordable city EV with 350km range
Hyundai has given a glimpse of its forthcoming affordable city EV, called the Inster.
Due for a full reveal later this month at the Busan International Mobility Show, the budget-friendly electric car will deliver up to 355km (220 miles) of WLTP range.
A rival to models such as the newly launched Dacia Spring and Citroën ë-C3, it will set new standards “in terms of driving range, technology, and safety features”, according to Hyundai, which says the Inster will redefine what buyers can expect from a vehicle in this class.
It’s based on the petrol-powered Korea-only Casper crossover – as reflected by the Inter name, which also draws on the words “intimate” and “innovative”.
The teaser images reveal signature LED daytime running lights and show that the new arrival carries over Hyundai’s EV design identity with pixel styling elements, including pixel-graphic turn signals and taillights, and roof rails.
The Inster will make its official debut at the Busan International Mobility Show on 27 June in Korea.
