New Renault Clio to focus on leading low fuel consumption & CO2 emissions

The latest version of the 12 million-selling supermini has been designed with an all-new look, which marks the beginning of Renault's new design direction under the leadership of Laurens Van Den Acke.

Offered only in five-door form, New Clio has a sporty outline, accentuated by integrated rear door handles concealed close to the rear quarter lights. In comparison with its predecessor, it packs extra dynamism and personality thanks to a lower ride height, wider tracks, wheels pushed out wide within the arches, and a reduction in the gap between the wheels and wheel arches.

New Clio has also been designed with a fresh, welcoming, occupant-friendly cabin that includes features such as a dashboard sculpted in the shape of an aircraft wing, the optimally-positioned multimedia system on the centre console, a wide range of colour options, a digital speedometer, comfortable seats and chrome and piano-black trim highlights.

There will be a range of innovative technology intended to raise the standards for small cars. This includes Renault R-Link – an integrated tablet connected to the car and internet – as well as a world first in the form of Bluetooth radios with the Renault Bass Reflex system.

The new model will also be focused on being a pleasure to drive, as well as targeting number one status for fuel economy and low CO2 emissions. The engine line-up includes two new Energy engines – the diesel Energy dCi 90 and the TCe 120, paired with six-speed EDC automatic transmission - to bring advanced technology for everyday motoring.

Additionally, New Clio offers efficient solutions to help drivers reduce their fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. These include an ECO mode, a driving style monitor with a Gear Shift Indicator, and a Driving eco² app available through Renault R-Link.

New Renault Clio will be manufactured simultaneously at the Flins plant ( France) and the Bursa plant (Turkey), with order books already open in some markets.
