Nissan & DEKRA team up to enhance fleet remarketing capabilities
The two firms have renewed their strategic alliance to develop a new solution for Used Vehicles Management Sales (UVMS), which is said to reduce the average used car time to sale to 45 days by vastly expanding the routes to market.
The new Nissan UVMS has already piloted successfully in the UK, France, Italy and Belgium and will be expanded to cover Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland and central European markets by the end of 2014, with the full system managing upwards of 38,000 vehicles.
Providing a multi-modal UC remarketing facility, the UVMS incorporates:
• DEKRA’s Starfleet platform: a comprehensive inventory and buy-back management system that encompasses the entire UC processing cycle from the hire period before handover through to invoicing of the sold vehicle
• A suite of UC pricing tools: including up-to-market model referencing, options and equipment management, full interface with RV setters, Nissan SAP and access to UC financing through RCI Banque.
• DEKRA’s Lineos B2B web remarketing platform: all-in-one UC marketing and sales support, online purchasing, and incentive and sales policy management for the whole network
Pieter Libberecht, used car manager at Nissan Europe, said: ‘The creation of this new UVMS in conjunction with DEKRA Automotive Solutions is all about reducing the time it takes to get a UC sold and selling it much more efficiently. We had high expectations and we make no apology for saying we’ve exceeded them since initial roll-out.’
He continued: ‘Tighter process control and enhanced remarketing mean lower costs for operators, more informed decision making and much, much faster UC sales. That in turn means higher volume capacity to support growth. That’s good for our customers’ profitability and that’s good for Nissan.’
Jordi Vila-Onses, general manager corporate sales, Nissan Europe, added: ‘Our renewed alliance with DEKRA Automotive Solutions emphasises our determination to add value for corporate customers right along the line. The new UVMS has raised the RV of Nissan used fleet vehicles since rollout by an average of 5% in piloted markets. That’s proof that we’re succeeding.
