Nissan to press ahead with new plant in China
The automaker will invest an estimated YEN 30-40bn ($371m-$494m) into the plant which will be responsible for producing the Murano and X-Trail sports utility vehicles – a segment of increasing demand with motorists in the region. Nissan has also announced that it expects that both luxury Infiniti models and a future line-up of battery operated vehicles will also be produced on site.

Japan's No.2 automaker plans to invest 30 billion to 40 billion yen ($371 million to $494 million) in the new plant, which will have an annual capacity of 200,000 vehicles and is scheduled to start production in 2014, the newspaper said citing company sources.
The plant will produce the Murano (Inset) and X-Trail sport utility vehicles, a category rapidly gaining popularity in China. Nissan also plans to make battery-operated electric vehicles at the plant, the business daily reported.
