Nissan unveils 100% electric VIP passenger shuttle
Dubbed the Nissan e-NV200 VIP Concept, the concept uses a two-tone metallic blue exterior that houses a luxurious interior with white leather and blue seats along with trim and carpets in black with a piano black finish on the control surfaces. To create a spacious feel, the top half of the cabin, including the headlining, window surrounds and pillar covers are also white.
The interior also uses two “Club Class” rear seats with integrated seat belts, armrests and extending leg rests and their own reading lamp. The seats have been moved well behind the sliding door, not only facilitating access to the passenger but also extending legroom up to 670mm, giving limousine-like comfort. There’s also ample room for luggage, making the e-NV200 VIP Concept ideal for business travellers at airport transfers.
The rear also gains a 21.5-inch DSP monitor, which can display movies or other images from a passenger's digital device, such as a smart phone, tablet, or computer. And there’s a central console between the rear seats with controls for the monitor and room lights as well as housing a drinks fridge.
Other additions include Nissan's Smart Rear-View mirror, recently introduced at 2014 Geneva Motor Show, which uses a high-resolution camera at the rear of the car to give the driver a clear unobstructed view of the rear.
The e-NV200 VIP Concept is powered by the same 80kW AC synchronous electric motor and 48-module lithium-ion battery developed for Nissan the and e-NV200. The carmaker added that the driving range will be close to the homologated range of the standard production vehicle and can be easily and rapidly extended by using any of the over 1,200 CHAdeMO-compatible quick chargers across Europe, just like the standard e-NV200.
Dany Boulenger, Nissan's global corporate sales, division general manager, said that based on demand some of its features could easily be offered as affordable aftermarket conversions.
