Nissan is introducing a next generation of small vans, built on a shared platform under its Alliance with Renault and again including a fully electric model.

The new range of small vans will replace the current NV250 ICE variants launched in 2019 and the e-NV200 electric model that arrived in 2014

The new range of small vans will replace the current NV250 ICE variants launched in 2019 and the e-NV200 electric model that arrived in 2014.

As with the current NV250, which has been manufactured at the Renault Maubeuge plant since 2019, the next-generation model will be built on an Alliance platform, expected to be the third-generation Renault Kangoo revealed late last year. The current NV250 is based on the Kangoo Mk 2.

Exact details of the new model and the name have not been revealed but Nissan said it would include various size combinations and an all-electric version.

Chief operating officer Ashwani Gupta said: “This future van announcement is more evidence of the strong momentum building for Nissan in Europe as we continue to advance our Nissan Next business transformation plan.

“Manufacturing our future products together with our Alliance partner brings competitive advantages for both companies and is another example of our win-win strategy.

“While it is too early to give any detailed product information, our customers can be sure they will have a strong Nissan identity and continue our mission of making the all-electric driving experience a viable option for everyone.”
