The Octopus Electroverse EV roaming app now connects drivers to over half a million EV charge points globally following strong growth this year.

The app unlocks 470+ brands in 40 countries for EV drivers

Launched in 2020 by Octopus Energy, the ‘one card, one app’ service unlocks 470+ brands in 40 countries for drivers. With over 20% growth this year alone, the brand says it’s one of the world’s largest virtual charging platforms. It’s added 100,000 new chargers in the UK and across Europe since January.

Octopus Electroverse connects drivers seamlessly to charge point operators including Ionity, Osprey, Ubitricity, Shell Recharge, Connected Kerb and Source London.

The app also gives drivers an interactive global map that shows chargers and their live availability, a smart route-planner, in-car support with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, the latest Plug and Charge technology, among other features.

UK drivers who use Octopus Energy as their energy supplier can also benefit from having all their charges added onto their monthly energy bill when charging in those countries too.

Matt Davies, director of Octopus Electroverse, said: “Electroverse set out to revolutionise on-the-go charging and we’re now doing just that. We’re delighted so many charging brands are flocking to join us and drivers are benefitting from a smoother charging experience.

“It’s incredibly encouraging to see the pace that charge points are being rolled out. New locations are appearing faster than ever before, alongside record global investment in charging infrastructure. Combined with our seamless EV charging tech, this is helping give drivers the confidence to switch to electric.”
