Omoda and Jaecoo appoint CEO for UK operations
Chinese newcomers Omoda and Jaecoo have announced the appointment of Gary Lan as chief executive officer (CEO) for the UK, effective immediately.
Lan joins the company from Lincoln Motors in China and will be responsible for steering the company’s operations across the UK, overseeing the expansion of the Omoda and Jaecoo brands.
His appointment follows closely on the heels of the official launches of the Jaecoo brand and the petrol- and PHEV-powered Jaecoo 7 in the UK, and ahead of the introduction of the Omoda 9, Omoda 7 and Jaecoo 5 this year.
Gary Lan said: “Omoda and Jaecoo enjoyed a successful debut into the UK in 2024 and has already started 2025 strongly with the launch of the Jaecoo 7, which has been positively received by the media and its first customers.
“My aim is to build on that success by continuing to roll out products from our exciting new Omoda and Jaecoo vehicle ranges, supporting our growing dealer network, and engaging with customers in both the fleet and retail sectors. We are committed to delivering innovation, high-quality vehicles, and a first-class ownership experience to our UK customers.”
Lan most recently held senior leadership roles at Lincoln Motors in China, where he served as vice president of sales and vice president of product marketing and brand management. His career also includes director-level positions at Ford in China, as well as key roles at Jiangling Motor Company in China and Mazda in Taiwan, where he played a crucial role in market strategy, brand development and sales performance.
Lan will work closely with Victor Zhang, who continues in his role as UK country director for Omoda and Jaecoo.
