Onwrd expands mobility portfolio with new Journey subscription service
Mobility solutions specialist Onwrd has launched its new ‘Journey’ subscription service, providing a convenient way to arrange on-demand and pre-booked taxi and chauffeur services across the UK.
Onwrd launched earlier this year, integrated within the wider AAM Group and focused on helping businesses combat vehicle shortages and find new and better ways to keep mobile through a comprehensive package of solutions.
Developments in the last six months include the completion of Alliance Rental’s incorporation into the business, with overall vehicles on rent up by 22%. Onwrd has also delivered a wide range of EVs and hybrids under its e-Flex product, including fully electric vans.
The new Journey solution enhances the mobility package further, giving customers access to a UK-wide network of hundreds of thousands of fully vetted vehicles and drivers. It also supports the AAM Group’s vision for putting technology, customer service and meaningful solutions at the heart of the offering.
Mark Thompson, managing director, outlined: “Customers already work with Onwrd because we take away all of the headaches and leg work involved in keeping their staff on the move through vehicle rental and subscription. The Onwrd Journey service does just the same, but with journeys of just a few minutes or a few miles.”
The solution provides real-time tracking and communication, ensuring passengers can see the exact whereabouts of the driver, and companies can track whether their passenger has been collected. Invoices for the journey are sent directly to the company, so costs are transparent and avoid inaccurate expenses – research indicates the average claim is inflated by 23% due to tips and even fraud. The new service also negates the need for employees to have to pay and reclaim expenses, while CO2 emissions are additionally tracked and reported.
The new solution is underpinned by Onwrd’s partnership with Jyrney, a transformative mobility platform, ensuring that customers can access onward travel, if just for an hour, a mile, a few days or longer.
Daniel Price, co-founder and CEO of Jyrney, said: “We are delighted to be working alongside Onwrd and AAM Group on the first of a number of exciting projects. Mark was one of the first in the fleet sector to approach us with an idea to bring the concept of onward transportation to their customer base, saving time, costs and expense claim processes. Jyrney further enhances that thinking with proprietary technology, bringing the supplier network and customer together on to a single platform and easily integrated API.”
