Said to bring ‘a breath of fresh air into the light commercial vehicle segment’, the new model is promised to be more economical with higher performance engines.

The carmaker added that the Vivaro ‘also boasts ultra-modern technologies and equipment that bring typical passenger car amenities and features for frequent drivers into the LCV segment'.

Design has also been overhauled, with new Opel Vivaro getting a 'more modern and precise look' that uses a large, prominent front grille and wing-shaped graphics to integrate the signature elements and forms of Opel passenger cars.

The sketch is published as Renault releases the first image of the Vivaro’s sister van, the Trafic.
