Oxbotica and NEVs to deploy fleet of self-driving, all-electric vehicles in Europe
Oxbotica and NEVS are developing a fleet of self-driving, all-electric vehicles to be deployed on public roads in Europe by the end of 2023, reshaping the future of urban mobility.
Oxbotica, a global specialist in autonomous vehicle software, is collaborating with mobility firm NEVS to integrate its Driver autonomy system with the NEVS ‘Sango’ vehicle.
The first deployment will go live in Europe in late 2023, followed by multiple projects in 2024 and a large-scale rollout from 2025.
The firms said the widescale adoption of shared, all-electric urban transportation has the potential to reduce congestion and radically lower emissions by replacing privately owned, carbon-emitting cars with low-emission electric multi-passenger vehicles.
And by having fewer cars on the roads, road safety will improve while the need for parking will reduce, enabling city planners to reimagine urban landscapes and introduce more green spaces.
