Peugeot renews Exalt concept for Paris Motor Show
Based on the Onyx concept from Paris 2012, the revised concept features a new livery using shades of grey with its distinctive “Shark Skin” rear end and bare steel bodywork hand-formed by a master panel-beater in homage to the art of the French motor car from the twenties and thirties. Inside, the finish is based on recycled newspapers.
The model is powered by a petrol-electric HYbrid4 drivetrain with a combined output of 340hp.
Other features include a tailgate with an ingenious opening mechanism that offers access to a HYbrid-kick electric scooter stowed below the boot floor.
Xavier Peugeot, Peugeot Product director, said: ‘Peugeot holds a unique position in the market with its range of two, three and four-wheeled mobility solutions. Combining an electric scooter with our Exalt concept demonstrates Peugeot’s ability to offer an integrated, innovative solution to cover last-mile mobility requirements.’
According to reports, a production version of the concept could be on the cards for China.
