Polestar 2 rolls out to fleets with help of Leaselink

Polestar is using the Leaselink e-procurement platform to help fulfil fast-growing fleet demand for its electric car line-up.

Polestar says that fleet interest in electric cars has accelerated since the start of the coronavirus pandemic

The Swedish electric performance car manufacturer launched its Polestar 2 electric fastback last autumn and is using Leaselink to take care of order fulfilment in two markets under a three-year deal.

In the UK, the Leaselink platform has already launched with a major international leasing company, while a similar pilot scheme is running in the Netherlands.

The leasing firms are using a new order in/order out module within Leaselink to send orders directly to Polestar for fulfilment, providing updates on areas such as delivery dates and status. This provides leasing firms with accurate, real-time data, eradicating errors and improving order communications for end-user customers.

Kay Saunders, head of fleet operations at Polestar

Kay Saunders, head of fleet operations, who is responsible for the project for Polestar, said the use of Leaselink has proved critical to fulfilling orders for fleet customers in both the UK and the Netherlands.

“To make our customer journey as straightforward and easy as possible, we needed two things: simplicity and automation. Leaselink delivers both and will make a real difference to our business. After the launch in the UK, we intend to roll this out to all the other major leasing companies that use Leaselink. In the Netherlands we will use a similar approach.”

She added that since the coronavirus pandemic had started, interest in electric cars had accelerated.

“While there has been a slowdown in retail orders due to various lockdowns, fleet has been different as it has given companies time to re-evaluate their fleet policies and introduce a wider range of electric vehicles for drivers to choose from.

“So the timing of this new partnership with Ebbon-Dacs and Leaselink is ideal for us,” she said.
