The trial will deploy a fleet of 100 on-demand Porsche chauffeur cars for an exclusive group.

Offered through Volkswagen Group-owned ride hailing service Gett via its One Transport platform, the service will run until May 2018  exclusively for current Porsche customers as well as a selection of Gett’s “high-value customers” who may consider a Porsche in future.

The scheme will offer pickups in central London between Tuesday and Saturday. Journeys within central London will cost a flat rate of £20, longer trips will be priced according to time and distance, shown in the Gett app. The platform will also enable black cabs and executive chauffeur vehicles to be booked through the same source.

The fleet of 100 Porsches will include the Panamera and Cayenne plug-in hybrids, as well as the Macan SUV, using drivers trained at the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone.

Ragnar Schulte, general manager marketing at Porsche Cars GB, said: “This premium travel initiative will last six months with results being used to inform our future strategy for ‘on-demand’, premium transportation. We invite all users to give feedback on this new service.”
