PSA Groupe and Dongfeng to collaborate on compact EVs

The e-CMP platform is an electric version of the Common Modular Platform (CMP), which they have been developing jointly since April 2015.

This could mean electric versions of the Peugeot 208 and 308, Citroen C3 and C4 and DS 3 and 4 are in the pipeline.

It follows the recent announcement of PSA Group’s ‘Push to Pass’ sustainable growth strategy, which includes launching seven plug-in hybrids and four electric vehicles, based on two platforms, by 2021.

Carlos Tavares, Chairman of PSA Group's Managing Board, said: “The future e-CMP platform is a key milestone in our partnership with Dongfeng. It will speed up the worldwide development of both of our groups, while helping us to reach the strict carbon objective set for 2020.”
