PSA Peugeot Citroën & Sixt team up for car sharing scheme

By / 12 years ago / News / No Comments

Dubbed Share Your Fleet, the scheme will offer fleets a wide range of Peugeot and Citroën vehicles, including petrol and diesel-engined cars, electric vehicles and LCVs – available on a leasing contract-based product with flexible maturity of 24 or 36 months and backed up by a modern booking platform combined with intelligent car sharing technology.

Both PSA and Sixt say that using the scheme can offer firms a reduction of 25% to 30% in fleet costs, including from the short-term rental to employees for private use during evenings or week-ends, from a better running of company cars and from the decrease of taxi and public transportation business expenses.

From launch, the scheme will offer the DS3 and DS4 from the Citroën range together with the 308, 3008 and 5008 from the Peugeot range. This will be expanded from autumn 2013, to include the Citroën C-ZERO and Peugeot iOn electric cars as well as LCVs.

All the vehicles are equipped with on-board factory-fitted PSA car-sharing technology. These will be teamed up with an intranet booking tool developed by Sixt, comprehensive fleet management services and technical assistance by phone.

Employees will be able to book cars up to 15 minutes before departure through a dedicated intranet. In case of private use, the amount due is debited directly to the credit card of the employee, with rates and hours of availability for private use defined by the company. An hour before departure, the employee will receive further confirmation of booking by email and SMS. The car opens with an RFID card, the ignition key and gas card are on board in the glove box.

Dirk-Marco Adams, director B2B, LCV and used cars at PSA Peugeot Citroën Germany, said: ‘The business customers’ demands to optimise TCO and mobility coverage are becoming higher and more diverse. Share Your Fleet positions Peugeot and Citroen as strong and innovative partners in fleet management. Our goal is to develop the most effective solutions for fleet managers. The first customer returns give me confidence that Share Your Fleet is in tune with the times.’

Carolin Reichert, head of mobility at PSA Peugeot Citroën, added: ‘Consumer behaviour is changing rapidly. Car-sharing is a viable solution in daily mobility. With Share Your Fleet, we support this fundamental trend with our partner SIXT and set up an innovative business model for companies. In addition, we offer an advanced car-sharing technology on our vehicles straight from the factory.’
