Both Boughton and Warwick have strong track records in international business development, and the firm says their experience and guidance will be invaluable.

Quartix opened a new office in Chicago in April, and has secured orders from customers in 10 States since then. Sales and support staff are being recruited and trained and the company will complement this with a network of distributors. Development of the distribution network is set to begin early in the third quarter.

Paul Boughton has over 25 years’ worth of experience in identifying, negotiating and completing acquisitions in the USA and Europe. He spent 13 years as business development director for Spectris PLC and is currently head of business development at Brammer PLC, leading its European acquisition programme. He also held a main board position at Consort Medical PLC and was group corporate development director at IMI PLC, a FTSE100 company.

Jim Warwick is chief operating officer at Abcam PLC, a global leader in the supply of innovative protein research tools. He originally joined Abcam as technical director, progressing to UK managing director in 2004 and chief operating officer in 2009. Prior to that, he worked on IT, software and web development initiatives for telecommunications consultancy group Analysys Limited.

‘We are delighted to welcome Paul and Jim to Quartix,’ said Quartix managing director Andy Walters. ‘They join us at an exciting time in the growth and development of our company.’
