The image provides a preview of the vehicle’s outline, showing a move to a much more sculpted look, with a rakish windscreen and front-end in keeping with the brand’s latest styling.

‘Its lines embody Renault’s new brand identity. My aim was to achieve a dynamic, assertive stance without sacrificing either the robustness or user-friendliness customers expect of their van,’ said designer Kihyun Jung.

Few details have been released but Renault said the new model is ‘focused on meeting the needs of business customers more closely than ever by providing them with “Innovation for a Better Life”’.

It also promised new technologies and a range of new engines using the brand’s Formula 1 expertise.

The image is released as Vauxhall publishes a sketch of the Trafic's sister van, the Vivaro.
