Renault Koleos SUV revealed at Beijing Motor Show
The D-segment SUV is based on the same platform as the Nissan X-Trail and will bring both front and four-wheel drive models plus claimed class-leading cabin space and the inclusion of Renault’s R-Link 2 infotainment system.
Billed as the brand’s flagship SUV and sitting above the Captur and Kadjar, the Koleos is built on a 2,710mm wheelbase with a total vehicle length of 4,670mm – putting it amongst the longest in the class and width of 1,840mm.
Styling is based on the latest Renault family face with full LED lighting while the cabin brings what Renault says its record-breaking interior space plus a 624-litre boot that rises to 1,690 litres with the rear seats folded. There’s also 35 litres of additional stowage in the cabin.
Selectable four-wheel drive technology is available while the Koleos also offers ground clearance of 213mm, said to give “real all all-terrain ability”.
Equipment on offer include the R-LINK 2 multimedia tablet which can be used to control an array of driver aids (ADAS), such as Active Emergency Braking System, Lane Departure Warning, Safe Distance Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition with excess speed warning, Blind Spot Warning, Tiredness Detection, rear view camera, Automatic High/Low Beam head lights, front, rear and side parking sensors and Easy Park Assist depending on market.
The Koleos will be available in more than 80 countries across all the continents. Sales start in the third quarter of 2016 in Australia, Turkey, the Gulf states and some Latin American countries, followed by China at the end of 2016, then Russia and Europe at the beginning of 2017.
