Renault teams up with Ferrovial for EV car sharing service in Madrid
Renault is joining forces with Spanish multinational Ferrovial to deploy a fleet of ZOE EVs in Madrid for a new car sharing service.
Launching in October, the service – dubbed Zity – will initially offer a fleet of 500 ZOEs located within the M-30 beltway and in some adjoining areas within the city.
Madrid already runs a number of EV car sharing schemes, including Daimler subsidiary Car2go’s scheme, which offers some 500 Smart Electric Drive vehicles. Last year also saw Renault Alliance partner Nissan sign a deal to provide Madrid taxi company, La Ciudad del Taxi with 110 new Nissan LEAF 30 kWh models while Uber also chose the city as the inaugural location for its new UberONE premium electric service, which uses a fleet of Tesla Model S vehicles.
