The French brand says that Indonesia is one of the most promising automobile markets in the world and is currently leading the growth of South East Asia with a population of 250 million and a TIV of 1,100,000 in 2012 (+25%). Vehicle ownership per capita currently stands at 36 vehicles per 1000 residents.

The first model to be introduced will be the Duster, locally assembled in Indonesia by Indomobil, followed by the Koleos SUV and the Mégane Renaultsport. The models are intended to provide a distinctive choice in Indonesia with an emphasis on engine performance, premium image and technology.

From 2015, Renault says it will launch tailor-made products for local assembly.

Indomobil will also build a dealer network, with plans for 45 showrooms by 2016, which will further increase. Indomobil has already been Nissan’s partner in Indonesia since 1981.
