The brand has more than 20 years’ experience in the country but expanded this in 2012 with the market launch of the DS line models through its second joint venture, with Chang An. The DS3, DS4 and DS5 have already been launched and local production of the latter and future DS models will start in the next few months at the Shenzhen production facility,

The DS network is also fast expanding and will grow from its current total of 27 sales outlets in the main Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Canton and Shenzhen, to 60 DS Stores in 50 cities by the end of the year. At the same time, the very first DS World – a corporate showcase dedicated to the DS – has been inaugurated on Nanjing Road in Shanghai’s most prestigious thoroughfare.

Citroen adds that its first joint venture, with Dong Feng, is continuing to grow with the introduction of three new sedans this year: the C4 L, the New C5 and the C-Elysée.

At the Shanghai Motor Show, Citroen will give the world premiere of its Wild Rubis concept, which gives an insight into how the carmaker’s future DS-badged SUV could look.
