The midlife update comes four years after the launch of the current fourth-generation model and introduces a refined exterior with new headlights, redesigned bumpers and an updated Škoda grille.

The redesign brings a sharper look for the bumpers and the grille and reshaped headlights to give a bolder and more sporty appearance. Both bodystyles also get second-generation LED Matrix beam headlights.

The line-up will also include latest Sportline and vRS versions.

Engine details will be announced next week but the revamped models are expected to retain the 110hp 1.0-litre and 150hp 1.5-litre TSI petrols.

First launched in 1996, the Octavia has sold over seven million units globally. The brand says it holds the title of Europe’s most popular estate car since 2016.

More details will be revealed in the digital global premiere on 14 February.
