This year has seen a number of new go-lives for the company’s Miles system, multiple ongoing implementation projects and the strategic acquisition of Car Systems in France.

‘We have had a highly successful 2014, achieving a number of the goals we set for ourselves at the start of the year, including the launch of a new browser-based user interface for Miles and the successful implementation of Miles for new customers in Europe and Australia,’ said Gémar Hompes, Sofico managing director.

‘The acquisition of Car Systems in Avignon has allowed us to create Sofico Services France, with a staff of 20 people and expert knowledge in the car, van and truck lease and rental markets. We plan to use that expertise to further enhance Miles, in line with our medium-term strategy for broadening our market,’ he said.

During the year, Sofico also restructured its business into autonomous regions to get closer to its customers as well as underpinning its continued expansion.

The initial seven regional units were: Belgium; the Netherlands; UK-Germany-Austria-Switzerland; Southern Europe; Asia; Japan -South-Korea; and Australia-New Zealand. An eighth unit, France, was established after the acquisition of Car Systems, with a focus on France and southern Europe.

Gémar Hompes added: ‘2015 will see further investment in our business, including product innovation around rental and truck markets.

‘In June, we will also invite our customers to our forum in Ghent where they will be able to share and discuss with us their strategic needs and receive an update on our development road map for Miles,’ he said.

‘All in all, 2015 promises to be every bit as successful as the outstanding year we have just enjoyed,’ he added.
