On sale next year, the new XV is built on Subaru’s completely revamped Subaru Global Platform architecture, bringing significant improvements in body and chassis rigidity and strength as well as a 5mm lower centre of gravity, according to the brand.

It also features an updated version of Subaru’s 2.0-litre Direct Injection Boxer engine, which is lighter and delivers more power and improved fuel economy. Electronic parking brake has been added for more convenience.

Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive remains as standard on all models but the new XV also brings X-MODE which optimises control of the engine, All-Wheel Drive system and brakes on slippery road surfaces, including when descending hills.

Driver assist technologies include the inclusion of the EyeSight system as standard, which brings features such as Pre-Collision Braking Control, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Keep Assist function. The XV also offers the Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection system, with fitted with blind spot detection, lane change assistance and reversing assistance.

Equipment on offer also includes automatic headlights as well as steering responsive technology, and an 8.0-inch touchscreen display for the infotainment system, with smartphone connectivity.
