Horbowyj brings nearly 20 years of experience in various senior sales and business development leadership roles across the telematics industry.

His background includes senior positions at Trakm8, GreenRoad Technologies and Masternaut, while his strengths stretch across securing new business, restructuring channels, launching new partner programmes, structuring operational processes and implementing sales management reporting. Horbowyj also has strong skills as a director, with responsibilities for setting up businesses and new divisions, recruiting, training and mentoring local sales teams, and managing international sales operations outside the UK.

In his new role, he will further promote Targa Telematics’ growth in the UK, with particular focus on connected vehicles in the fleet management market, establishing relationships with leasing partners, and signing new international partnerships in the UK.

Founded in 2000 in Italy, Targa established a UK office in late 2019 as part of a process of growth and expansion into further markets and is focusing its work on larger corporates as well as mobility, leasing firms and manufacturers.

Thomas Smith, UK country manager at Targa Telematics, commented: “I’m delighted to welcome Chris onboard as our UK sales director. Having established the UK business in late 2019, we’re confident Chris’ wealth of experience, strong network of contacts, and excellent understanding of the UK connected vehicle market will help us to accelerate our growth in this sector, reflecting Targa Telematics’ expanding presence and strong results across Europe.”

Chris Horbowyj added: “The company’s rapid expansion over the last couple of years, the incredible results achieved, its commitment to constant innovation, and its experience working with leading companies and the level of OEM integration has been crucial in my decision to join as UK sales director.”
