Targa Telematics is growing its European base further with the opening of a new office in Spain.

Headed up by Mario Martínez Marcos as general country manager, the new office in Madrid arrives a year after the firm opened its offices in Portugal.

Targa, which specialises in telematics, smart mobility and digital IoT platforms for mobility operators, said the new office consolidates its internationalisation process; the business already has offices in France and the UK, while at the same time operating globally in the US, Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

While the business had previously provided its services in Spain, it said a direct presence in the country would allow the company to expand its user base of fleet management and car-sharing solutions, developed in its Italian Research & Development hub.

The new office will also help drive the mobility of the future in the Iberian Peninsula as well.

Nicola de Mattia, CEO of Targa Telematics, commented: “The expansion in Spain represents a further step towards our growth and positioning. Within the next five years, we are aiming to become a global company and consolidate our role as a leader in the sector, as a player enabling transformations that are already taking place in the mobility field.

“We are totally committed to support and help our customers. Regardless of whether they are large fleet managers, rental companies, car makers, insurance companies or mobility players, we assist them in their transformation and transition to digital, to connected, electric and shared mobility, and to all the new forms of mobility. Another important factor is being logistically closer to them in their transition, to make cooperation even more profitable and increase the value we created together.”
