His career started with Peugeot in Coventry in September 1986 and since then he has held various roles in the UK and Europe including Fleet, Leasing and Used Vehicle director for Peugeot France, Marketing and Commercial director of Banque PSA Finance and managing director of Peugeot Netherlands before moving to China where he managed the company's general operations for fourteen years.

Zimmerman rejoins the UK subsidiary as the Company prepares to launch the world’s first diesel electric hybrid- the 3008 HYbrid4. The multi award winning and versatile 3008 has been hugely successful in the UK and this latest derivative is the first of a number of diesel-electric vehicles from Peugeot that will offer CO2levels from just 95g/km and fuel economy of up to 74mpg.
