Tobias Moers becomes new chief executive of Mercedes AMG

Prof Dr Thomas Weber, member of the board of management of Daimler AG for group research and development Mercedes-Benz Cars, said: ‘Tobias Moers has gasoline in his veins. With his technical expertise and enthusiasm for high-performance automobiles, he has made an important contribution to the success of our high-performance brand in recent years. He is an out-and-out AMG man who has helped shaping the brand for nearly 20 years now.’

Mr Moers has been at Mercedes-AMG since 1994, where he first worked in various development positions. In 1999, he assumed overall responsibility for the main AMG model series. Tobias Moers has been in charge of complete automobile development since 2002 and has been a member of the executive board of Mercedes-AMG GmbH since 2011.

Mr Moers succeeds Ola Källenius, who becomes the new head of sales & marketing at Mercedes-Benz Cars, taking over from Dr Joachim Schmidt, who retires at the end of this year.
