Shown at last year’s Geneva Motor Show, the three-wheeled two-seat electric city car will be used alongside existing Toyota COMS personal mobility vehicles from early 2014.

The “Ha:mo” urban transport system uses electric vehicle car sharing and traffic routing information to ensure the most appropriate form of transportation is used by travellers.

Toyota predicts that the scheme will have 1,000 members from October, with users be able to rent and return vehicles at 17 locations from October as well as use a smartphone app to reserve vehicles and look at traffic congestion and suggested routes.

A fee-based sharing service will be introduced from 1st October, with fees starting at 200 yen (around €1.51) for the first 10 minutes and 20 yen (around €0.15) per minute thereafter.
