Pressures continued on the UK’s true fleet sector in September, reports Dataforce.

Following the publication of SMMT data for the month that shows the overall market fell 9.3%, latest figures from Dataforce reveal the true fleet sector fell 9.6% year on year and 4.3% for the first nine months of the year.

Last month also saw some significant changes inside the top 10 ranking for true fleet sales. Volkswagen’s volume increased by 22.6%, helping the brand to take the lead from Vauxhall, who had previously held the top position for the March and September figures since September 2014. Mercedes ranked third, achieving a growth of 3.1% – its market share of 10.0% is in fact the highest ever for the German brand, with the A Class, GLC and GLA performing remarkably well.

Ford took the fourth place followed by Audi, Nissan, BMW and Hyundai, which achieved growth of 23.5%, mainly fuelled by the Tucson, the i10 and the all new Ioniq.

Toyota and Kia completed the top 10 but Dataforce also noted the performances of Seat (ranked #12), which increased its fleet volume by 55.6% compared to September 2016, and Suzuki in 19th position, which more than doubled its figures (139.1%) and achieved an all-time high in terms of market share in the UK true fleet market. For more of the latest industry news, click here.
