UK’s ACFO to expand reach through European Fleet and Mobility Association
UK fleet decision-makers’ organisation ACFO has confirmed it is to join the recently formed European Fleet and Mobility Association (EUFMA) in a move to expand its global reach.
ACFO announced last month that it was exploring membership of EUFMA – which was launched earlier this year by the German, Swiss and Austrian fleet associations – in a move to pool fleet management best practice.
Since then, ACFO deputy chairman Caroline Sandall has attended a meeting of the group along with representatives of fleet decision-maker organisations based in France, Italy and Spain, and ACFO is now pushing ahead with officially joining, either later this year or in early 2019.
Sandall said: “From the discussions it is clear that fleet operators in many European countries are all facing and tackling many of the same issues including being focused on cutting air pollution and the evolvement of employee mobility.
“That commonality can help in shaping and invoking best practice, while EUFMA as an organisation can lobby the likes of the European Union and motor manufacturers to give fleet operators in member countries a greater voice.”
EUFMA membership will enable ACFO to engage formally with other fleet organisations in Europe through seminars and workshops hosted by fellow members, while an online chatroom will also be established along with a library of key best practice know-how and documentation.
Sandall continued: “Having already joined the Global Fleet Consortium Network, joining EUFMA will further strengthen ACFO’s voice and provide our members with international fleets with additional support and contacts in helping them to further develop best practice policy and procedures.”
