US: New GE Capital Fleet Services solution to save money and time on driver violations
According to GE data, the average violation fine now stands at $69 due to cashless electronic toll collection, advancements in enforcement technology, and more aggressive enforcement practices.
In response, the company has launched its Driver Accountability product, which increases fleet managers’ control over violation expenses.
The solution is said to save fleets 60-80% over existing payment processes and provides drivers with the ability to dispute violations before they are settled with the issuer.
The automated systems enables drivers to directly handle violations with issuers, with fleet managers able to access all violation-related activities online.
‘As vehicle violations continue to impact the bottom line, this new program increases fleet managers’ productivity and ability to manage driver behaviour,’ said Brad Hoffelt, senior vice president and general manager of products and services at GE Capital Fleet Services. ‘Driver Accountability is another example of GE using the latest technologies to help our customers save money and time.’
The company adds that fleets can also access GE Capital Fleet Services’ customer call centre and expert consultants to help identify additional programmes with opportunities for cost savings. These include GE’s Toll Management programme, which was launched in 2012 to increase control of toll costs and reduce administrative burdens surrounding toll violations.
