Verizon brings telematics brands under one business
Telecomms giant Verizon has created a new Verizon Connect business to bring its Telogis, Fleetmatics and Movildata brands under one roof.
Providing a solution for customers of all sizes, from large enterprises and SMEs running cars or commercial vehicles through to individual consumers, the brand brings together the three firms following Verizon’s recent acquisitions of Fleetmatics and Spanish commercial vehicle and asset management company Movildata.
All three firms will now come under the Verizon Connect banner and offer a portfolio of solutions and services, including fleet and mobile workforce management software platforms, embedded OEM hardware, and the Hum by Verizon app aimed at consumers and offering automatic vehicle updates and 24/7 help for car issues.
“One of the things we’re most proud of at Verizon Connect is the potential our current and future technologies have for massive societal impact,” said Andrés Irlando, CEO of Verizon Connect. “We’re working with customers to maintain cold chain integrity and keep perishable items safe during transport, routing customers’ vehicles more efficiently to reduce emissions, monitoring vehicle diagnostics to improve fuel efficiency, and providing a gamification app that helps customers recognize and reward their safest drivers, just to name a few.”
