The business, which is headquartered in Italy, has purchased 100% of CMA Monitoring, which operates in Poland, mainly in the fleet segment. CMA has main offices in Warsaw and Bytom (Katowice), six commercial offices, 96 employees and a 24-hour Control Centre.

Viasat has also purchased 25% of Italian start-up Datamove, which is based in Treviglio and specialises in the design, implementation and management of software platforms for the environmental health sector worldwide.

The firm said both acquisitions demonstrate its determination to grow its business both nationally and internationally, as a leading global provider of telematics systems and services.

Viasat started its strategy of internationalisation in 2013 with the creation of Viasat Servicios Telemáticos in Spain and continued with the acquisition of 70% of Enigma Vehicle Systems Limited, a leading UK telematics firm, in 2014.

Last year also saw Viasat acquire a controlling interest in Cefin Systems of Romania.
