Virtual reality experience enables drivers to check out new cars

A new online platform has launched in the UK and Germany, enabling drivers to check out new and used cars via virtual reality and engage with dealers.

Customers can use a VR 360 Car View Tool to check out vehicles virtually and can also access model data and comparisons

It’s aimed at private car buyers but also company car takers and opt-out drivers looking for insights and dealer support on their next vehicle.

The YesAuto solution uses behavioural-led algorithms to crossmatch customers and their requirements with new cars and dealers available. From there, customers can use a VR 360 Car View Tool to check out vehicles virtually while a Build Your Own function enables them to spec the cars to meet needs.

Users can also carry out side-by-side comparisons and access peer-to-peer recommendations, including fuel consumption and value for money, and expert reviews to simplify car selection.

The new platform has launched in the UK and Germany first, among plans for wider expansion in Europe.

YesAuto’s general manager Neil You said: “We know buying a car is a significant investment for many people and that purchasing a car has often been a long and exhausting process. We want everyone to feel excited about every stage of selecting and buying a car, with our site having everything people need in one place to make the right car choice for them. Through the site, we are making car buying as simple as possible whilst also giving discerning customers access to the widest range of vehicles so they can browse and buy from wherever they are, safe in the knowledge they are getting a great car, at the right price.”
