Revealed in near-production concept form, the Taigo is based on VW’s Nivus model sold in Brazil, which will be manufactured for the European market in Pamplona, Spain, and given a makeover to cater for tastes in Europe.

It will be sold alongside the T-Cross, providing a more rakish, sporty approach; VW says the Taigo will be focused on a dynamic and emotional design, along with a multitude of assistance systems and state-of-the-art connectivity.

Details are yet to be revealed but it’s said to bring a line-up of economical TSI petrol engines, LED headlights as standard and a fully digital cockpit.
