Global fleet management software platform Wialon has reached a record number of four million vehicles connected via its technology across 160 countries.

The new record makes Wialon one of the largest fleet management software platforms worldwide

The new record comes just eight months after Wialon hit the 3.8-million landmark and makes it one of the largest fleet management, GPS tracking and IoT software platforms worldwide, by number of connected vehicles.

The Wialon software platform, designed by European software developer Gurtam, helps connect, track and monitor vehicles and assets, ranging from HGVs and LCVs to public buses, agricultural vehicles and equipment, construction vehicles and equipment, energy generators, fuel tanks, waste management trucks and many more.

The software is deployed across varied industries, ranging from logistics and transportation, to agriculture, construction, energy or waste management. The company also revealed plans last year to expand into new sectors and markets to further its global growth trajectory.

Aliaksandr Kuushynau, head of Wialon, said: “Fleet management solutions are of the utmost importance to businesses, as they are the backbone of operational success. Year-on-year, we are seeing increased adoption of telematics, and a higher emphasis on safety and data analytics, supporting efficiency and sustainability in fleet operations.”

Wialon operates through a network of service providers and system integrators.

GotYou Telematics, the company that deployed the landmark four-millionth vehicle connection, has been a Wialon partner since 2017. Headquartered in South Africa, the company provides and integrates security services for fleet management, helping clients across various industries manage and protect their transport and assets.

Aldo Gerber, founder and CEO of GotYou Telematics, said: “We were excited to begin our partnership with Wialon in 2017, and since then, we’ve never looked back. The sky’s the limit if you know how to use the platform’s wide functionality to drive your clients’ success.”

Globally, Wialon has a network of over 2,700 channel partners in more than 160 countries, most of which are SMEs. Working with Wialon equips them with advanced technology that’s normally seen in larger business, levelling the playing field and enhancing their operational capabilities without the need for extensive development investments.

Over more than two decades since being founded in 2001, Wialon has developed a suite of fleet management software that’s vehicle-, sensor- and device-agnostic, and easily scalable for both small and large fleets. The Wialon software suite is used for fleets ranging from small fleets under 50 vehicles, through to large fleets with more than 1,000 connected vehicles.

Wialon’s Aliaksandr Kuushynau summed up: “We still remember the excitement of reaching our first 400,000 vehicles back in 2015. It took us nine years to add three more zeros to this number. Starting small and dreaming big, who could have imagined how far we would come?

“As we move to our next milestones, we are committed to enhancing our services to help the Wialon partner community grow and thrive. We know this will be an exciting journey.
