AMT has appointed Airmax Remote as its telematics technology partner, ensuring effective track and trace of vehicles and proactive SMR.

AMT has initially installed the Airmax Connect solution across its daily rental fleet of 1,600 vehicles, ahead of plans to go live across the entire fleet

The Leeds-based vehicle rental and leasing provider of prestige vehicles has initially installed the Airmax Connect solution across its daily rental fleet of 1,600 vehicles, ahead of plans to go live across the entire fleet, including own book, short-term hire and contract hire vehicles.

The Airmax technology accurately records the location of AMT’s fleet, ensuring vehicle security and recovery, if required, as well as notifying of any rental abuse, such as high speeding, collisions or unplanned European travel.

Airmax Connect also provides AMT Leasing with advanced pre-emptive remote vehicle diagnostics, aiding with SMR. The connected tech notifies AMT Leasing to any diagnostic trouble codes, vehicle health warnings or potential maintenance issues, helping to ensure vehicle uptime and maximise residual values.

For existing end-user fleets running Airmax solutions, it also means no disruptions for drivers processing their mileage claims and operational activity, with relevant services being activated to suit their needs or existing policies.

Roy Derek Langley, group procurement director, AMT Leasing, said: “In less than six months, Airmax Remote has delivered the complete package with the Airmax Connect solution. From an SMR perspective, we now have the most robust system in place, providing valuable insight into the behaviour of the vehicles. With alerts triggered by vehicle data, we can plan for servicing and repairs to a vehicle before it becomes a critical issue, thereby benefiting our customers and protecting our assets.”

Richard Perham, managing director at Airmax Remote, added: “We look forward to building on the relationship with AMT Leasing and will continue to support them as their business grows.”
