The new agreement builds on an existing partnership dating back to 2004.

The exclusive agreement will see Athlon supply all new lease cars for the 5,500-strong fleet until at least 2020 and builds on an existing partnership between the firms dating back to 2004.

The agreement means that Athlon will provide the new cars that are subject to employment conditions as used by BAM, in addition to the 2,000 (green-orange) commercial vehicles.

The deal also sees Athlon expand its advisory role after advising BAM on the efficient and effective use of their commercial vehicles for a number of years.

Niels van den Hoogen, commercial director at Athlon Netherlands, said: “Athlon and BAM both realise that business mobility is changing; it must become more sustainable, efficient and user-friendly. We have many years of experience with lease aspects including car sharing and mobility budgets; and we keep a close eye to new technical innovations. We’re looking forward to take on this challenge together.”
