As announced earlier this week, the automotive data specialist is expanding into Europe as part of plans for further global expansion. This will be supported by a European data set for the first phase, followed by a new global coding system.

Now the company has appointed Mr Mayerhörmann to work with an international team of editors to lead analysis of Europe’s largest car market.

He has previously held senior roles in MBtech Consulting and EurotaxGlass’s.

Derren Martin, international senior car editor at CAP HPI, said: “Patrick is a superb addition to the team. He brings a wealth of experience working with OEMs, retailers and the wider supply chain. He brings a view that spans automotive data and consulting services, and perhaps, more importantly, shares our passion for developing innovative digital solutions to address the challenges the industry faces.”

Mr Mayerhörmann will work closely with all relevant areas of the German automotive market and the company’s digital teams to develop data solutions for the industry.

Patrick Mayerhörmann said: “I join CAP HPI at an exciting time. I believe it will change the way automotive businesses view and use data. It has placed technology at the centre of all data activities, from collection and processing, through to delivery and the development of new applications.

“The new global code provides a future-proofed platform that will unlock the ability to share vehicle data across international boundaries. This will help the industry drive innovation and growth throughout the vehicle lifecycle.”
