Citroën Cactus M concept to be star of stand at Frankfurt

Inspired by the brand’s Méhari model, the two-door Cactus M is also intended as a lifestyle vehicle and brings a completely open cabin with built-in steps at the rear for passengers to access the rear. There’s even drainage outlets in the footwells to enable the cabin to be hosed down. And a rear arch enables passengers to carry equipment such as wakeboards and surfboards while the seats are designed to resemble wetsuits. The Cactus M also features a modular cabin that turns into a ‘couchette’ and a roof that can be made into a tent.

Styling is in keeping with the Citroën Aircross concept shown at the Shanghai Motor Show in April as well as the Cactus itself and brings Airbump technology.

Under the bonnet there’s the PureTech 110 1.2-litre petrol engine seen in the Cactus married up to a S&S EAT6 six-speed automatic gearbox.
