The “Residual Value Giants” is published twice a year by BF Forecasts for Focus Online in the German-speaking countries, with the analysis showing both car models which do well regarding to the percentual residual value as well as vehicles with the lowest value losses in euros.

The latest report shows that Dacia’s Sandero, Logan, Duster and Lodgy models lead the way in their respective classes.

In the mini-car class, the three-door Citigo is in the lead monetarily with a depreciation of €4,000 in four years, but has also grabbed the first place in the percentage perspective with a residual value of 55.5%.

The absolute Residual Value Giants in percentage across all classes are, like in the previous year, the Porsche models Boxster and Boxster S, with a residual value forecast of 59%.

Meanwhile, the CLA 180 and B 180 CDI from Mercedes-Benz and the Mini Couper Coupe are only two percentage points behind. The Mercedes newcomer CLA 180 laid down a fast, yet stable start with a forecast residual value of 57% in three years and pushed the Golf (55%) to the second place in the class of compact cars.
