This year has also seen the daily rental giant open operations in Poland, Turkey, Israel and Switzerland as part of a period of dynamic expansion.

The firm added that the Enterprise brand is currently available in 28 European countries, with more to become operational in the coming months as the company continues to expand its branch operations across Europe and the Middle East.

This summer also saw the announcement of Enterprise's acquisition of Burnt Tree, one of the UK’s largest providers of commercial vehicle rental to private companies and public sector organisations.

Commenting on the firm’s move into the Balkan states, Peter Smith, vice-president of global franchising at Enterprise, said: ‘We are now only a couple of countries away from an Enterprise network that spans all of Europe. We owe a huge thank you to all our employees and partners across Europe who have worked so hard to deliver the promise of the Enterprise brand every time a customer walks up to our car hire desk.

‘Customers come to Enterprise for excellent customer service and exceptional value. They want the same experience when they walk into a branch in Belgrade as they do in Bel Air. We’ve worked hard to develop a network of Enterprise branches across Europe quickly, without compromising service.’
