The rental giant has opened its first stations in the cities of Curitiba, Florianopolis and Porto Alegre in partnership with Los Cipreses SA, a leading travel and tourism company in Argentina and Uruguay. The firms are also planning to open stations in the top 10 cities in Brazil within the next 12 months.

Marcus Bernhardt, Chief Commercial Officer of Europcar group, said: ‘Europcar is proud to partner with Los Cipreses SA, to develop our presence in Brazil. In addition to being the most important economy in South America, we must have good mobility solutions for our large base of multi-national corporate customers, most of whom operate subsidiaries there. Additionally this move allows us to service our direct customers, airline and hotel partners and leisure customer base with an ever increasing network.

‘For Europcar it is truly a great opportunity to participate in this very large and dynamic market where we already serve a significant number of Brazilian customers outside of Brazil. We look forward to extending our mobility solutions to these customers domestically as well. This new franchise, with the addition of our existing GSA South Marketing, leads us to be in a very strong position to deliver business to the Europcar network.’
